Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
The last couple of days I've been working on this little spiral bound book. I actually made the whole thing from scratch and bound it myself. The baby image is from my friend Kris' collage sheets. The background is alcohol inks with a star stamp on top. The inside I used a bunch of my left over paper, printed and plain. I think it turned out really cute. Here is a shot of the inside and outside.

I went into half price books today and picked up these 2 stellar books--both were under two dollars. They made me laugh so hard...they will definitely make it into my art work. I'm thinking about turning the second into my next art journal. It seems oddly appropriate!

Halloween Cards

I've been working oh so slowly, and made a couple more Halloween cards. The first uses a paperbag studios stamp and some stickers by stampendous.
This second one uses both stampendous stamps and stickers. I am just in love with this little witchy bird!!

getting back to normal

I am, oh so slowly, recuperating from my injury. I am back to working but it's slow going doing things with an injured hand. Not that I'm complaining, I am very thankful that my hand is healing and the doctor told me this week that I won't be needing a skin graft after all. Good news, indeed.
Tomorrow I will be teaching at my first convention--Scraps Across America. I am excited and a little anxious-- I want everything to go really well. Here are the two pages I created for the class. I'm sorry the resolution isn't great, but my scanner isn't big enough to do 12x12, so I had to make do with the camera.

I am going to try to get back into the swing of posting again...hopefully my life will return to normal soon :)

Spooky Art

The theme for this month's challenge over on the GPP street team is spooky art. Here is a picture of some goodie-cones that I made for the ladies at IAA. Complete with a twinkling h20 tag.
And here are the lovely ladies smiling and showing off their treats.

Lastly, I know I posted this a few weeks back but I this is one of my favorite Halloween cards that I've made, so I'm re-posting it.
Have a safe and spooky holiday everyone!

Don't try this at home

I know I've been a little quiet the last week, but I have a very good reason:
Ta Da!

I was teaching an art class and severely burned my hand--second degree. It's made my creative process a little slow and I type very s l o w l y with only one finger on my left hand. Sigh. The er doctors said it would be at least 10 days before they started to feel better....so I'll be gone for a while yet.
In the meantime--don't ever, ever, ever put your hand down into a liquid pool of UTEE.

Oh-My-Oh-MY!

I realize that you can't see me right now--but I am doing a jig around my living room.
No joking. I have Wilco's A ghost is born blasting on my ipod and am a dancing fool.
Why?
Because my friend--the lovely and talented--Kris of Retro Cafe Art Gallery asked me to be on her design team. She is going to be opening her own stand-alone internet store soon, but for now you can still find her on ebay.
Hence, much dancing and rocking out.
I was so excited to get started that I made this little card using one of her collage sheets this evening. I'm thrilled that I managed to stop dancing around my living room long enough to do this. The big gate stamp is by Paperbag Studios, the hat is by Inkadinkiado and the swirls are by Rhonna Ferrar (they didn't really scan very well because they're stamped in a metallic ink that my scanner hates) and the little girl is by Retro Cafe Art Gallery.
A big thank you to Kris, for such a fun opportunity!

New cards and music

Saturday was national card making day. One of the local scrapbooking places here in town had a free make-and-take in honor of it. I made this first card there--

The next two I made on my own--

I changed my player yesterday, so there's some new music for the month of October! I picked all Tori Amos, since I was in the mood for her.
Have a happy Tuesday everyone.

Wednesday Stamper

The theme for this week's Wednesday Stamper is Autumn colors. I was working on a set of Halloween themed tags as part of another project and thought they'd be a perfect fit. They are 2 sided, the background is twinkling h20s, the skull stamp is by Inkadinkado as is the swirl, the bird is by Invoke and the "Happy Halloween" stamp is by stampendous. I used the stazon glue pad and some colored mica for the glitter.

Goodness, goodness, goodness!

Where did the week go? I have no idea. It's like a lost three whole days in there somewhere! I have very little work to show for this week, mostly because I am working on a couple of really big projects that are slow going. But tonight I did sit down and make a little charm necklace because I was feeling the need for some instant-art-gratification. Here it is:

I know it's hard to tell, because there is a glare in the first picture, but there is a little baby bird sitting in the house! Hopefully I will get my big projects done this weekend and have more work to show.
Happy Friday everyone!

Wednesday Stamper

The theme for this weeks Wednesday Stamper is "Moo Cards" which are small cards about half the size of business cards. I had a lot of fun with this challenge. The background is alcohol inks on glossy card stock. I then stamped a Paperbag studios stamp (the diamond) and the bird is by Hero Arts. This one was so much fun to make--I'm off to try another!
